This project started as a personal grieving exercise. When my brother died suddenly from complications related to COVID and an underlying lung condition, I was left struggling to cope. This project started as a personal grieving exercise. When my brother died suddenly from complications related to COVID and an underlying lung condition, I was left struggling to cope. Art has always been an outlet for me, so I began creating simple illustrations to work through my feelings and express them in a tangible way. Many family members and friends stated that the illustrations helped them identify their own feelings and work through grief. There were also a few who asked if they could share the illustrations with their loved ones who were also grieving. After some consideration, I decided to publish a little book of the illustrations. The book is called "I Feel You" and it is not an inspirational or how-to book. It is just a collection of my own struggle with grief, captured in simple and minimalistic illustrations. I believe that the simplicity of the drawings makes them very accessible, and gives people an opportunity to have an empathetic experience through someone else's shared grief. Grief is a very personal experience. Each person is impacted differently, often depending on life experiences, past trauma and access to support. Some people who are mourning a loss may not be able to identify their own needs or articulate the emotions with which they may be struggling. As an adult, I had the opportunity to receive therapy and counseling for my own childhood trauma. This experience has helped me to work through the emotional impact of my own loss through art. It is my hope this book is helpful, or at least the very least, lets you know that you're not alone.

A Multidimensional Art Experience: Poetry, Music, and Visual Art I Was Mondie All Along is more than a poetry collection-it's a cross-media exploration of emotion, memory, and resilience. Armando Heredia's words transcend the page, having already resonated as songs under the musical pseudonym If We Were A Band and as striking visual art in his We're All A Little Anxious series. This book is the heartbeat of a larger creative universe, inviting you to experience poetry not just through words, but through sound, imagery, and raw feeling. Poetry That Sings, Art That Speaks Many of the poems in this collection have already found life beyond the page: Musical Adaptations: Tracks like Ramirez and Wildlife Management were first released as haunting, melodic stories by If We Were A Band, blending folk, rock, and lyrical storytelling. Discover the songs that inspired the poems-or let the poems introduce you to your next favorite soundtrack. Available on Apple Music, Spotify and many other streaming platforms. Visual Art: The Edge of Unease section, including fan-favorite We're All A Little Anxious, has been reimagined as evocative digital art, merging text with striking visuals to amplify the themes of mental health and self-discovery. Why This Collection Stands Apart Heredia's work refuses to be confined to one medium. This collection is for: Music Lovers: Experience the lyrics behind the songs-or the songs behind the lyrics. Art Enthusiasts: See how poems transform into visual narratives, adding depth to their meaning. Poetry Readers: Savor the original, unadorned power of Heredia's writing, free from any filter. A Book That Demands to Be Felt From the nostalgic ache of Til The Street Lights Came On to the defiant roar of AmeriCore, these poems don't just describe emotions-they become them. Whether you're here for the music, the art, or the sheer force of Heredia's writing, I Was Mondie All Along promises an immersive journey.
