The collected dark fantasy fiction of Award-Winning Author Jeffrey Lyman including the brand-new story "Immortal Evelyn" Cauterize the Wound A noted professor at a Victorian medical college learns that truth is not always empirical, nor can all reality be weighed and measured, when lore and legend undeniably prove themselves as fact in his operating theatre. Down on the Playground It isn't all fun and games when you see more than just dead people. The Quartered Man An overconfident young trader disregards sage warnings to avoid particular crossroads and finds himself in a battle of wits with a malevolent spirit thirsting for revenge. Immortal Evelyn A battle for supremacy fractures more than just a country when magic is involved. Can Evelyn put the pieces back together before things get worse to the infinite power?
Autorenporträt
Jeffrey Lyman has been writing for as long as he can remember, typically doorstop epic fantasies that originally didn't go anywhere and just trailed off, to later efforts that actually went somewhere. He has found he has a knack for keeping all the spinning plates aloft until it's time for them to start falling. His short stories have been published a baker's dozen times in several award-winning anthologies, as well as assisting in editing, and he attended the Odyssey Writing Workshop in 2004. Professionally, he was published in Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show, as well as winning Writers of the Future in 2010 (published 2011). After that, he took a hiatus to raise a family. With the boys being 15 and 16 now, and more interested in video games than hanging out with Dad, he has once again taken up the pen. He recently published a steampunk novelette in the anthology The Chaos Clock, by eSpec Books, which was delightfully reviewed in Tangent Online.
