M. Tesfay a obtenu sa maîtrise en sciences du climat en 2014. Il a eu plusieurs expériences professionnelles en météorologie, climat et dynamique atmosphérique avant et après l'obtention de son diplôme. Ce livre fait partie de son mémoire de maîtrise. Il est actuellement chargé de cours à l'université d'Arbaminch, au département de météorologie et d'hydrologie, en Éthiopie.
