The outdoor environment should not just be seen as play area for young children but also as an additional learning space where children explore and learn. This book aims at providing information on the implication of outdoor environment on children's learning in public preschools. The study was based on descriptive survey design and it involved; 44 primary school head teachers, 44 preschool lead teachers and 309 final preschool class pupils The major findings includes:. The results from the regression analysis indicated that when all the four states of the outdoor environment (the site, availability, adequacy and effectiveness) combined together they explained only 20.6% of the variance in the preschool overall academic achievement. The results from observation and interview schedules indicated that a rich outdoor environment had a positive influence on preschool children's development of various skills. There is need for all stakeholders such as the government, teachers, nongovernmental organizations and communities to provide pupils with quality outdoor environment so as to improve learners' academic achievement in the early years of learning.
