Produktbeschreibung
This book focuses on the study of custodial sentences, with the aim of analysing the general aspects and historical evolution of such sentences, as well as examining their enforcement, purpose, objectives and compliance, in accordance with the Brazilian Penal Code and the Penal Enforcement Law. The topic is important due to questions about the applicability of custodial sentences as a sanction imposed by the State, as well as society's revenge, with regard to the conditions offered by prisons. The study was developed using the deductive method, based on bibliographic and documentary research, through which we sought to highlight custodial sentences. The objective was to demonstrate that, in order to improve all issues arising from custodial sentences, as well as their enforcement, structural changes are necessary, and it is essential to implement prison and social policies that effectively address the condition of convicts, thus aiming at the resocialisation of prisoners.
