Roberts was educated at Bedford School, and his early life experiences deeply influenced the introspective and philosophical elements in his later works. He spent much of his life in London, where he continued to write, achieving some popularity during his lifetime. His work spans multiple genres, though his autobiographical and reflective essays, such as A Tramp s Notebook, showcase his talent for examining life s more profound and challenging aspects. Roberts passed away on June 8, 1942, at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of rich and thoughtful writing that continues to be appreciated by readers interested in the complexities of human existence.
