Reading a Last Will and Testament opens Pandora's box, and for the residents and the heir apparent of Whistlebrook Nursing Home, the results could be lethal. As the sole beneficiary of the privately owned nursing home where he was born and raised, Kip Patterson is forced to unravel the mysteries of his past, a past that nearly destroyed him fifteen years earlier. But what he believes is a game designed by his departed mother soon becomes too real. People are dying. And once again, his sixth sense is failing to offer him forewarning. With an unknown entity attempting to destroy either him or the Home, he's soon steeped in danger and racing against the clock to safeguard the elderly in his care before another succumbs to the Grim Reaper. With the help of his only childhood friend, JD Mulden, Kip attempts to secure his home. But the archives await. Tormented with wicked images of the past, he must face his demons while contemplating the possible future with JD's stunning little sister, Kelly, who's wheedling her way into his chilly heart. A financial genius with the analytical mind of a computer, Kip is becoming increasingly more suspicious of the facts unfolding, but his initial fears may be justified. And the past is repeating itself. If not dead, someone wants him ruined, and pinning a multiple murder charge on him could do the trick. Love and hate twist in this psychological suspense/murder mystery, the action-packed sequel to the first Whistlebrook Mystery . . . MOURNING CHILD: Letters From The Grave.
Autorenporträt
The influence of rural living radiates throughout J. K. Grueber's novels as she was born and raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Even though she lived within spitting distance of Pittsburgh, most of her escapades involved farm country and horses-a lifestyle she continues to embrace. Presently, she and her husband, Steve, live on a small horse farm in Northeast Ohio, where she tends to twenty-plus Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds along with two Great Pyrenees, a dozen ducks, and a plethora of cats. She divides her time between writing paranormal mysteries and breeding, training, and racing Thoroughbreds.
