Her journey through recovery from mental health and addiction issues inspired her career as a Peer Support Specialist, where she leads support groups. A devoted cat owner, Leighlan shares her life with her two cats, Blitz and Nikel. She enjoys writing, reading, adult coloring, and word searches. Family is important to her, and she cherishes time spent with her partner of over 20 years and her many nieces and nephews. Writing since age 14, Leighlan shares her metaphorical poetry in her book, *In My Mind's Eye*.
