This book provides innovative methods for simulating, modeling, and controlling photovoltaic systems. The authors introduce a modeling strategy including eight linear models pondered by nonlinear weighting functions that are calculated dynamically based on extreme temperature and irradiance values. The authors demonstrate how the parameters of each model are harnessed to develop a partial PI controller aimed at commanding the corresponding model to achieve the desired performances swiftly and precisely. The books goes on to show how merging the gains of the partial PI controllers with the nonlinear weighting functions, the PI controller gain for the PV system can be effectively determined. The authors present the results of simulation performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment to demonstrate the model's ability to depict accurately the behavior of the PV system across all operative zones and under varying climatic conditions. Furthermore, the authors show how the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PI controller in swiftly and precisely tracking the maximum power point while maintaining stability and canceling ripples.
Autorenporträt
Nawel Mensia is an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering, specializing in automation and industrial computing in the Centre of Researches and Technologies of Energy of Borj Cedria, Tunis. She received her Master degree in Automation and Signal Processing in 2006, and her Ph.D Thesis in Electrical Engineering in 2011 from National Engineering School of Tunis. Currently, she is a research member of the Photovoltaic Laboratory (LPV). She has published several articles and she participated in many international conferences in the fields of automation and Photovoltaics systems.

Mourad Talbi is an Associate professor in signal and image processing at the center of researches and technologies of energy (CRTEn), Tunis, Tunisia. He received his Master degree (2004) in automation and Signal Processing from National School of Engineers of Tunis (ENIT). He received his Ph.D. Thesis (2010) and his HDR (2015) in Electronics at Faculty of sciences of Tunis. Actually, he is a research member of "Laboratoire de Maîtrise de l'Energie Eolienne et de Valorisation Energétique des Déchets". He has made many publications in the domains of Signal and image processing and also in the domain of the photovoltaic. He also participates in many international conferences of signal and image processing and also photovoltaic. He has published many books and chapters in the domains of Signal and Image processing.
