Food and nutritional security, maintenance of soil health and leaving rightful heritage for future generation are the main focus of agricultural development. The integrated approach of nutrient supply by inorganic fertilizers and organic manuring is important because this system reduces the use of costly inorganic fertilizer and provides an environmental friendly approach. The results of the book "INM in sorghum-barley cropping sequence on Inceptisols" showed that application of fertilizer and organic manures increased significantly crop yield, concentration and uptake of nutrients, organic carbon and available nutrients of soil after harvest of crops. The beneficial effect of INM was visualized in first crop and its residual effect of FYM in second crop of the sequence by sustaining the productivity as well soil fertility. The study has provided valuable information to monitor yield responses of a cropping system with integrated use of fertilizers and organic sources and will help in the development and policies for rational fertilizer use and management of quality of soil and the environment.
