Mexico-US migration is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon, linked to economic, social and cultural inequalities between the two countries. In Michoacán, between 2000 and 2020, male international migration experienced significant changes. The objective of the study is to identify and explain the factors that determine male international migration in the state of Michoacán de Ocampo during the period 2005-2020, through a descriptive and analytical analysis that combines statistical data and theories related to migration, exploring its relationship with economic, educational and demographic indicators. results: Between 2000 and 2020, male migration in Michoacán experienced significant fluctuations. In 2000, 17,938 men migrated, a figure that reached 62,390 in 2010 due to low wages and jobs in the primary sector. By 2020, it dropped to 19,290 due to the 2008 economic crisis and immigration restrictions in the United States. Labor informality and structural inequalities demand policies to reduce migration dependency and promote integral development.
