Cameroon's political scene reveals that, beyond the rhetoric, the State of Cameroon and its development partners are deploying mechanisms to combat clandestine emigration of young people abroad. These mechanisms are made possible by strong prevention and clear management, ranging from awareness-raising to training young people in various trades, as well as financing young people's projects and supporting them in their various endeavors. While the objective of this policy is clearly state-building and participation in local development, it nonetheless raises three fundamental questions: What are the mechanisms in place to combat illegal emigration in Cameroon? What assessment can be made and what proposals can be made to improve the fight against illegal emigration in Cameroon?
