This book is an introduction to security studies in the context of contemporary international relations. It explores the evolution of the concept of security, its dimensions (national, international, human) and its multiple domains (military, economic, environmental, health, etc.). Through a theoretical analysis based on realism, liberalism, constructivism, critical approaches and game theory, the author examines current threats, the actors involved and response strategies. He also introduces sub-disciplines such as strategic studies, polemology and irenology, while proposing a methodology for analyzing global and local security issues.
