James Fleury was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, to Haitian immigrant parents. Growing up in Crown Heights, he had a tough childhood and faced prejudice from his peers. As a shy kid, he was often targeted by bullies, but despite his quiet nature, he had a fiery temper and didn't back down from confrontation, often to his own detriment. His parents, unfamiliar with the challenges he faced at school and limited by language barriers, struggled to advocate for him. In their Caribbean household, receiving phone calls about their child was seen as a sign of misbehavior, leading to punishment rather than understanding. These cultural and communication gaps often left James feeling voiceless.Today, James is an entrepreneur dedicated to serving and uplifting his community. He is also the co-founder of Global Empire, an organization committed to empowering individuals and fostering positive change through mentorship, leadership development, and community impact initiatives. Through his work, James is determined to create opportunities and a supportive network for others, ensuring that no one feels silenced the way he once did.
