In the shadow of her famous older brother. Dismissed by teachers who believe football isn't for girls. Overshadowed by their elite private school rivals. Izzy Havey has spent her life fighting to prove she belongs on the pitch. But when a new PE teacher - a former professional player - arrives at Falcon Hill School and starts a girls' team, everything changes. With sheer determination, Izzy and her coach lead their makeshift squad into the National Cup, pushing further than anyone ever imagined. But the road to glory is anything but easy. Tough choices, fierce rivals and self-doubt threaten to stand in their way. Can Izzy rise above it all and lead Falcon Hill to victory? Rise of the Falcons is the latest spin-off of the Jack Harvey series of football stories for young adults.
James Hewlett was born and raised on the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey, surrounded by the sea and rolling green fields. A lifelong sports fan, he's happiest with his dogs by his side, watching football and rugby or cheering on his favourite teams. As a child, James loved reading, but also playing, watching, and dreaming of football stardom - his hero was none other than Roy of the Rovers. While he never made it to the big leagues, his passion for the game led him to sports writing in 2008, contributing to local newspapers, magazines, and the Jersey Rugby Club, where he also volunteered as a junior coach and media team member.Following the success of Breakthrough and Believe, James returns with a new series of fast-paced, feel-good football adventures. This time, the spotlight is on Izzy Harvey, sister of local superstar Jack Harvey, as she proves that football isn't just for the boys -it's for everyone.
