Kwame Dawes won the prestigious Forward Poetry Prize in 1994 for his first collection, Progeny of Air. His second collection from Peepal Tree, Prophets, received wide critical acclaim. A professor of English at the university of South Carolina, Kwame's work is attracting attention all over the world.
