W.H. Moreland (1868-1938) was a British ICS officer and wrote several books on the economic history of India during the medieval period. He served as an assistant commissioner (1894), joint magistrate (1897), magistrate and collector (1899) and became Director of Land Records and Agriculture in the United Provinces in 1899.
