Mike Mahy lives in the beautiful west coast province of British Columbia, Canada. His professional background includes military service in the Canadian Navy, restaurant industry, and worked professionally as a bookkeeper and tax preparer.Due to dark, hidden secrets about his sexual identity, he acted out in criminal behavior, which led to his arrest and eventual conviction for sexual interference. He served most of his 11 months of his 2-year less a day sentence in Ford Mountain Correctional Centre, where the vast majority of his journals were written. He used many of his experiences, both personally and professionally, to help other inmates while serving his sentence.He received an incredible amount of counseling, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), support through his SAA (Sex Addicts Anonymous) group, and from his chaplain to help him be put on to a path of recovery and transformation. It takes faith, hope, and love; and effort. His life is an example of positive change.
