She was married to California State Senator Sanborn Young. Born to parents whose names are not widely documented, she began her career in the early 20th century and gained recognition for exploring themes related to social issues, personal struggles, and human kindness. Her works often reflected the complexities of American life and the challenges faced by women seeking independence. Throughout her career, she contributed significantly to American literature with novels, short stories, and plays that combined emotional depth with thoughtful social commentary.
