This book is about the life of one of America's wild west good guys, John Jarvie. The stories are sourced from Jarvie's handwritten Journal, letters, other historians, as well as newspaper articles of the day. John settled in Brown's Park. Utah, which straddles the northeastern border of Utah, the north western edge of Colorado, and is just a few miles from the southern state line of Wyoming. The three corners area was a popular location for outlaws to hide, including Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch. John's friendly character, and non judgmental demeaner made him a favorable character to be around. John was taken advantage of by two men who robbed and murdered him at his ranch, home and store on July 6, 1909. It was typical for Jarvie to feed his visitors, but on this day, after he had set a table for three, Jarvie's life was taken by the two men. One, a man who had stayed at John's place before. John could have been called the wizard of the hills and river. He was not only a man amoung men, but he was a friend among men.
