Autorenporträt
David Hilton is a native of Carlisle and lived there from his birth in 1948 until 1975. The seed of this book was sown while studying education at Westminster Training College (Oxford) in the late 1960s. David became aware of a family connection with stone-mason, teacher and poet John Richardson through a college assignment. Conversations with family revealed that the poet was a great-great-uncle on his mother's side. David has a very tentative but real interest in Cumbrian poetry, and a lifelong interest in the county's landscape, geomorphology, and agriculture. He is a keen and experienced fell-walker, and now lives in Northumberland with his wife.
