Perhaps you have often wondered why God had John record this account of Jesus' ministry. Or maybe you have asked yourself, "Why did Jesus turn water into wine, why did the Pharisees want Him killed, why did He walk on water, or what did He write on the ground when confronted by a mob with the adulterous woman?" Perhaps you have often wondered why God had John record this account of Jesus' ministry. Or maybe you have asked yourself, "Why did Jesus turn water into wine, why did the Pharisees want Him killed, why did He walk on water, or what did He write on the ground when confronted by a mob with the adulterous woman?" Let's study the scriptures together, examine John verse-by-verse, and reference hundreds of Bible verses throughout the pages of God's word to gain a greater understanding for the Gospel presenting Jesus Christ as God manifest in the flesh. The goal and aim of this book is to study the Bible in its context. Each verse has a context based on the verses that precede and follow after it. Those verses collectively have a context based on the chapter of the book, and the book has a context based on the Bible as a whole. None of the Bible can stand alone nor be interpreted privately (2 Peter 1:20). In short, the Bible interprets itself and this commentary on John has been written with that truth as the central focus. So, let's study the word of God together, gain sense and understanding of the reading (Nehemiah 8:8), and fall in love with the Bible all over again!
Autorenporträt
I was born in April of 1987, saved by the grace of God during my high school sophomore year in 2002, and graduated college from Appalachian State University with a degree in Mathematics in 2009; the same year my wife, Julie, and I were married. Today we have four beautiful children: the oldest a boy (Cooper), two middle daughters (Ava & Laurel), and the youngest another boy (Beau).Since 2009 I've preached in various churches, taught/preached through many books of the Bible to both adult and youth, written various articles/commentaries on God's word, and interim-pastored at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina in 2015. Volume upon volume could be written about all the marvelous things God has bestowed upon me and my life (John 21:25): the joy, peace, goodness, faith, grace, etc. that God freely gives is incalculable (not something a mathematician would generally say). I want others to know and experience God just as I have, and the only way for that to happen is to publicly tell it. Therefore, my desire is to teach and preach God's word. That is why I write. My hope and prayer is that your love for Jesus Christ and your joy for His word would increase as a result of studying God's word with me through my writing. God Bless!
