Winford Lewis Allen was born in Mobîle, Alabama, and raised in the Community of Whistler, five miles north of the port city. He is blessed to have been named after his fraternal, and maternal grandfathers, Winford Allen and Lewis Havens. He holds a BS Degree in Mathematics from Mobile College, and an MA Degree in Education from the University of Mobile. He further studied Statistics under Dr. Teresa Wagner at the University of South Alabama. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard with active service during Hurricane Fredrick, and active service in the United States Army, with the 403rd Company, 1st COSCOM, out of Fort Bragg NC, that deployed to Log Base Charlie, 100 kilometers North of KKMC (King Kalief Military Camp) on the Iraqi-Saudi Arabia border, during Operation Desert Storm.
Mr. Allen worked around the country, and overseas in the Electric Power Generation Industry. He remains married to his bride of over fifty years, Helga Ann Damhave Allen.
