Home is not a place-it's the journey we take and the love we carry. From the ruins of post-war Europe to the sunlit horizons of Australia, Martin Kari's Journey of a Lifetime: Volume II traces an extraordinary odyssey across continents and cultures. Through Germany, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, and beyond, Martin weaves a story of courage, survival, and belonging-a tapestry of family and faith that endures against the odds. But beneath the travel and triumph lies a deeper mystery: how far must one go to find peace within? In this moving continuation of his memoir, Martin reflects on the beauty and fragility of life, and on the quiet strength of his late wife, Arja, whose spirit shaped every step of their shared path. A story for every soul seeking meaning in movement, and hope in the face of change.
Autorenporträt
Martin Kari was born in Transylvania during World War II. His early years were marked by upheaval, displacement, and the search for stability in post-war Europe, experiences he recounted in Journey of a Lifetime: Volume I.In this second volume, Kari reflects on the decades that followed-years that took him, his wife Arja, and their six children across four continents before settling in Australia in 1981. Arja, his lifelong partner and source of strength, passed away in March 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion. Now living in Queensland, Australia, Kari continues to write and reflect on the lessons of migration, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. His works, including Australia-A Migrant Experience, invite readers into a journey that is at once deeply personal and universally human.
