Abbiamo tutti molti viaggi da compiere. Quello di Gary è iniziato in una piccola città del Midwest, dove ha potuto giocare senza limiti nei boschi, scoprendo un amore precoce per la natura e imparando a essere autosufficiente. Il programma spaziale e il cielo notturno lo hanno fatto appassionare all'astronomia. Dopo aver terminato il college, ha sentito il richiamo del mondo. La sua passione per la scienza lo ha portato in California, dove è entrato a far parte del fiorente settore tecnologico. Oggi continua a guardare il cielo, chiedendosi quale sia il profondo significato dietro a ciò che ci circonda.I suoi lettori italiani noteranno che uno dei personaggi principali è un'ottima cuoca. La scelta è stata senz'altro influenzata dalla moglie di Gary, di origini italiane, che ha appreso l'arte culinaria dalle ricette della nonna.Dopo una carriera nella Silicon Valley, Gary si è dedicato a progetti personali, studiando astrofisica e filosofia.
