At 19, she moved to New York City, where she became an active figure in the socialist and women's suffrage movements. Campbell was dedicated to advocating for social change, particularly for women's rights, and her activism was an integral part of her life. She married James Lawrence Campbell, and they had a son, James Lawrence Campbell. Her involvement in the fight for gender equality and social justice was reflected in both her personal actions and her writing. Though her literary contributions might not have received the same level of recognition as those of other contemporaries, Campbell s work still holds value for its portrayal of the social issues of her time. Her commitment to her causes and her literary endeavors cemented her place as a significant figure in the early 20th century. She passed away on November 27, 1955, at the age of 67.
