One of Leslie Tuzi's favorite things to eat is popcorn! Then one day, the idea for Just The Way That You Are literally "popped" into her head! She thought, "Why not write and illustrate a book for my grandchildren about a little piece of popcorn that comes to life?" The main character, Sonny Pop, was inspired by Leslie's three little sillies, who are so loving, creative, fun, adventurous, and free-spirited. Her grandchildren became her best critics and editors along the way, helping her hone the story and illustrations. It has been a loving adventure for everyone involved! Just The Way That You Are has become their top request at bedtime during sleepovers. Prior to becoming a book writer and illustrator, Leslie's career had been in the event and hospitality industries. As an avocation, she has been a professional artist for over thirty years. By God's grace, she hopes to share this-and future loving and affirming stories-for children to enjoy!
