In this gritty memoir about tackling life's challenges with the promise of transcendence, Teilhardian scholar Christine M. Tracy illustrates how seemingly chance encounters with Teilhard's work catalyzed her emotional and spiritual expansion. To read Just Trust Life is to receive a download of Teilhard's mystical energy-his love as an evolutionary force. Yet this book is much more than a poetic and practical introduction to the life and teachings of this revered mystic. Through finely tuned scenes from Tracy's life, we learn what it means to be a "spiritual being having a human experience." As Teilhard's spirit accompanied her through struggles with addiction, infidelity, divorce, a house fire, and a near-death-experience, Tracy realizes that we are never alone-and we have the power to wake up. In this brisk read with a powerful takeaway that belongs on every nightstand, readers will discover Teilhard's promise: if one can "just trust life...life will bring you high."

Autorenporträt
Christine M. Tracy is a writer, journalist, rhetorician, and Teilhardian scholar. Inspired by the "noosphere," Teilhard's word for collective thought energy, she coined the term "newsphere" and wrote The Newsphere: Understanding the News and Information Environment to explain the paradox of the current news environment. She believes the energy of the noosphere can enhance collective evolution and wrote The Mystic As Everyman to help readers connect their "insides with their outsides." Tracy is a member of the Council of Scholar Advisors for The Teilhard Project and has published scholarly essays exploring Teilhard's relationship to progressive disciplines, including media ecology and integral theory. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, where she skis, swims, hikes, and engages with progressive ideas and spiritual communities.
