Jason Izumi was born in 1955 and raised in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii.He has studied fine arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn,NY, and art history at Columbia University in New York City. He has shown his artwork at art festivals throughout the United States, winning a number of awards, including two Best of Show awards at the prestigious Festival of the Masters at Disney World, in 1993 and 2000, for his large scale mixed media paintings at that timeHe currently displays his seascape and landscape paintings at his family's restaurant, Teshima's Restaurant, in Honalo, or "Hualoa" of "the Magical Land between the two mountains" of Mauna Loa and Hualalai.Jasonizumi369@yahoo.com
