A man with a tourmaline ring seems intent on guiding or manipulating three people connected both by family ties and a wartime incident that is equal parts miraculous and tragic. There is Nathan, who swam against the current even before he found what he did in the creekbed... Mack, who may have locked away the truth when they built a mental Attic to keep from drowning in their perfect memory... And Tomlin, who risks being pulled under when she loses everything and wonders if she ever deserved any of it. Their courses converge in Keagans Crossing, a mind-bending exploration of family, friendship, and responsibility, what is real and what is remembered, and the risks of both running away and standing still.
