Janice Burt never thought she would be a writer. In fact, she never envisioned doing half of the things she loves doing today, such as acting, speaking, writing, and teaching. For too long, fear held her back from pursuing the things that brought her joy. She was so afraid of rejection and not being perfect that she didn't step out of her safely suffocating comfort zone.After her divorce in 2012, Janice realized that she was the one who needed to change. She began taking personal responsibility for her life and soon discovered her own authentic voice through sharing her story. She faced the fears in her life that had held her back for so long. During her transformation, she found it cathartic to journal her thoughts and feelings. She turned these letters, poems, and speeches into her first book, Bits & Pieces of a Broken Heart. This compilation captures the ups and downs of her separation and divorce. To break through the fears kept her stuck, Janice chose to step up into her life purpose in a bold and courageous way. She chose to share her story through speaking and writing, taking her power back. In addition, Janice ran a marathon, acted in short films, and participated in a bodybuilding competition. She became a yoga instructor, learning the art of how to sit in stillness and allow herself to be truly present. Her most recent book, Kicking the People-Pleasing Habit: A 6-Step Approach, is the result of "doing the work" to break the addiction of people pleasing and step into the life she is truly meant to live.
