CHRIS BROWN teaches medieval history for St Andrews and Edinburgh universities, has appeared as consultant on numerous documentaries, and conducts heritage tours at the battlefield sites. He is the author of The Scottish Wars of Independence, Robert the Bruce: A Life Chronicled, and Bannockburn 1314: The Battle 700 Years On. Unsurprisingly, he is highly regarded as an expert on fourteenth-century Scottish history. He lives in Shetland.
