Is there a difference in the fairy tale knowledge of children in the fourth year of primary school in urban and rural areas? This book explores this question. The first part takes a closer look at the literary genre of fairy tales. In addition to explaining their characteristics and origins, the most important representatives are listed. Human development is examined from a depth psychological perspective and the influence of fairy tales on child development is discussed from this perspective. For a better understanding, some well-known fairy tales are examined from a depth psychological perspective. The significance of fairy tales in education is considered from a contemporary historical perspective and their importance today is substantiated by the science of neurobiology. In the second part, the research question is answered using quantitative research methods and the results are presented.

Josefa Dittmann was born on 11 February 1967 in Walpersdorf, Lower Austria. After working in the commercial sector for many years, she began studying at the University of Education in Krems an der Donau. She successfully completed her training as a primary school teacher in 2016.
