Étienne Émile Gaboriau, né le 9 novembre 1832 à Saujon et mort le 29 septembre 1873 à Paris dans le 9ème arrondissement, est un écrivain français, considéré comme le père du roman policier. Son personnage, l'enquêteur Lecoq, a influencé Conan Doyle pour la création de Sherlock Holmes.
