Jasper Starfield is a preschool teacher from Edinburgh, known for his imaginative teaching style. He has taken to authoring children's books to help him in his quest to inspire young minds through the exploration of the alphabet, mathematics, and physics in fun and whimsical ways. Jasper lives with his wife Eliza and their two children, Lily and Max. Together, they create a loving, imaginative household filled with laughter and learning.From a young age, Jasper dreamt of becoming a professor who taught children. Unlike many of his peers in the historic city of Edinburgh, Scotland, who dreamt of adventurous exploits or heroic deeds, Oliver's heart was set on the joy of teaching and the magic of discovery. He always knew he wanted to be a professor.When he was a kid, Jasper's bedroom was a haven of knowledge and wonder. It was full of books, science kits, and magical trinkets. He often turned his room into a classroom, teaching his stuffed animals about the universe. As an adult, Jasper is now known for his kindness, patience, and boundless curiosity. With wild hair and a wardrobe of colorful vests and bow ties, he is a joyful and enthusiastic presence. As a teacher, Jasper's classroom is just as magical as his childhood bedroom was. There are vibrant posters, curious artifacts, and the scent of freshly baked cookies. He uses puppets to explain science and sings math songs with a ukulele!Inspiration comes from many places for Jasper. From his daily interactions with his students and noticing the unique way they connect with the world. His imagination sparks when enjoying nature walks around Edinburgh's lush parks and historic sites. He can always draw from his own childhood and the experiences he enjoyed growing up. And then, for this book, his main inspiration was his beloved plush toy, Laboo. There are other interests in Jasper's life than inspiring young minds to be curious. He also enjoys hiking, nature exploration, rock climbing, gardening, traveling, and astronomy.Jasper wants, above all, for his educational books to make learning fun for children. He believes that by talking about complicated ideas such as the alphabet, mathematics, and physics in fun and engaging worlds, he can inspire young minds and foster a love of discovery.
