Frances Lucas discovered her passion for young adult novels through her students, establishing an after-school book club and free little library in her classroom. She taught animation, technology, and filmmaking in Anchorage Alaska for many years and cofounded the Black Bear Film Festival for middle and high school students in 2012. She now lives in Southern Colorado with her wife and dogs and spends her days writing, reading, and exploring Colorado's many small mountain towns.
