The Editors: Julio López-Arias is Associate Professor at Ithaca College, New York where he teaches Spanish language, literature, culture, and civilization. He has published books and articles on Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American historiography and literature. Professor López-Arias received a graduate degree in Filosofía y Letras from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca in Spain and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he also taught for six years. Gladys M. Varona-Lacey is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Ithaca College where she teaches Spanish and Latin American literature. She has published articles and books in the field of Latin American literature. Professor Varona-Lacey obtained a certificate in Latin American Studies and a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh. She has taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, and Harvard University.
