James Fenimore Cooper, né le 15 septembre 1789 à Burlington, dans le New Jersey, et mort le 14 septembre 1851 à Cooperstown, dans l'État de New York, est un écrivain américain. Il est notamment l'auteur du roman Le Dernier des Mohicans.
