Executive functions - a new perspective on treating the diverse manifestations of learning disorders? My bachelor's thesis addressed this and other questions relating to learning disorders in connection with 'executive functions'. Executive function, a term that has not yet been uniformly defined, describes regulatory and control mechanisms in the human brain. These mechanisms enable humans to act in a goal-oriented and situation-appropriate manner, among other things. It was interesting to learn that these functions can be specifically promoted and trained, which led me to wonder whether this could compensate for or alleviate cognitive deficits. But what forms or programmes of physical activity can positively influence executive functions in learning disorders and, in the best case, reduce the disorders?
