Larry Freeland, born in Canton, Ohio, comes from a family with a strong military tradition. His father was an Army Air Corps/US Air Force officer whose career spanned from World War II to the early Vietnam War. His grandfather served in World War I, and his brothers are veterans of post-Vietnam conflicts.After graduating high school at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, Larry earned a degree from the University of South Florida in 1968. He then joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division as an infantry officer and CH-47 helicopter pilot.After leaving active duty in 1973, Larry pursued a career in banking, retiring in 2001 before working as a financial consultant and later as an instructor in management and leadership at Lanier Technical College.Now retired, Larry writes full time and lives in North Georgia with his wife, Linda, a retired teacher. Together, they enjoy traveling, cruising, and visiting historic sites.
