Everyone is fighting their own silent battle, but each person has the power to overcome and prevail in this life. Life Raft explores the challenges and hardships faced by a woman who was a successful attorney to the outside world, but inside she was struggling with her mental health. From walking the stages of top universities to finding herself voluntarily committed to a mental health crisis center, author J. A. Asbill shares how she fought through the onset of mental illness to find a diagnosis, and more importantly, a way to manage and live a balanced life. This inspirational story charts the rise and fall of coming to terms with receving a mental health diagnosis and helps people understand that they are not powerless in this situation but can choose how to live and cope moving forward. From feeling isolated to fearing judgment to discovering peace in one’s identity, Asbill describes how she fought coming to terms with her diagnosis and refused to be defined by it.  Life Raft is personal. It’s vulnerable. It’s honesty at its core—revealing the thoughts and actions everyone keeps behind closed doors and dreads coming to light.
