After surviving cancer in 2004 and a domestic violence assault in 2005, which left her with lifelong migraines, she pursued further education, earning degrees in English, Adult Education, and an MBA. Amy has written over 140 works, including her 2024 nonfiction historical book, Balls-Town: A Community of History, Friends, Neighbors, and Lingering Spirits, emphasizing the importance of preserving local history. Despite chronic migraines, her Functional Neurological disorder (FND) [a disorder that mimics other disorders and increases symptoms of her RA, tremors, and awake seizures] she continues her work in literary consulting, reviews, and promotions.Amy recently wrote and published her first children's book, and did all of the illustrations herself.
