Stephan Lessenich (Stuttgart, 1965), es catedrático de Sociología en la Universidad Ludwig Maximilians de Múnich. Entre 2013 y 2017 fue presidente de la Sociedad Alemana de Sociología. Su campo de investigación abarca la sociología política, la desigualdad social, la teoría del estado del bienestar, la macro sociología comparativa y la sociología de las edades.
