Simon James, geboren 1961, wuchs in Bristol und Exeter (England) auf und erfand schon als kleines Kind ständig Bildergeschichten. Also studierte er später Grafikdesign und Kunstgeschichte. Seit 1989 veröffentlicht er Bilderbücher und hat dafür schon viele Auszeichnungen erhalten.
