You have been diagnosed with something called Crohn's disease. You have looked at all the scary literature and heard the dire medical advice and prognosis about a disease that cannot be cured. Maybe you have acute symptoms and are enduring the debilitating and embarrassing effects of pain, fatigue, diarrhea, medications, and surgery. Or maybe you are in a remission and while your symptoms have subsided, you are worried about when the next attack will be. What do you do now? Life with Crohn's is not easy, but when treated correctly, the disease can be managed, reducing symptoms and allowing healing to occur. This book is about the power you have over your life and lifestyle to help you take control of your disease. My 25 years of experience have led me to the awareness that choices I made in my daily life either contributed to my disease or supported my healing. I found that by taking responsibility for my health and having the willingness to change my lifestyle, I was able to control my symptoms, stay active and live the life of my dreams rather than feeling un-empowered, sad and suffering every day. Join me in living a symptom-free life.
Autorenporträt
At thirty years old, Rebecca was diagnosed with acute Crohn's disease. With four young children to raise and a lifetime of experiences she had yet to live, she chose not to let this diagnosis and disease rule her life. In short, she decided how sick she wanted to be and how she wanted her life to look. She has become a strong believer in our own personal healing power. By focusing on self-development, listening to her body, reducing toxins, and practicing holistic remedies, she created a roadmap of principles and healing habits that allowed her to help the body to heal itself. Today, the disease still has its minor days, but she can quickly get back to a state of wellness using these same principles and by refining her habits. Looking back on the daily choices made, she is proud of her efforts and believes that everyone can have the same healthy outcome with the correct mindset and tools at their disposal. Rebecca is not a medical doctor and would never profess to be but has thirty plus years of experience in managing her Crohn's disease and a breast cancer diagnosis with minimal medical intervention and holistic practices. As a caretaker, she has been a strong advocate for those with chronic illnesses. By sharing her own journey, she offers support and encouragement, showing that even small changes can help the body heal itself. She is passionate in her grounded, no-nonsense approach in the belief that conventional medicine is not our only option when managing a disease and its symptoms and is passionate about sharing the foundation to developing the habits that can help your body heal itself.
