After a career as a solo CPA, Morrison decided to pass along both stories and business insights of interest to small-business owners. The genesis of the book began as a column of stories written for the Sacramento Business Journal. After the columns, came a financial workshop "The 3-Day MBA", which led to a series of workshops under the banner of The Profit Process. ® In a way, Living By Your Wits is both a guidebook and memoir. In the The Profit Process®, he developed an effective system for small-business owners to discover hidden sources of profit and cash flow in entrepreneurial and family owned businesses with revenues up to $25 million. In short, Morrison helped clients create wealth and the tools to step-up and play on a larger stage. In addition to a CPA certificate, Morrison holds an MBA from Stanford University, and was a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with the Institute of Management Accountants. He was a lecturer at CSU, Chico, at UC Davis Extension and for the California Society CPAs. He has appeared on the NBC's Nightly News and has been quoted in the New York Times.
