Dr Kirsten Thorpe (Worimi, Port Stephens) is Associate Professor and Chancellor's Indigenous Research Fellow at Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education & Research, University of Technology Sydney, where she leads the Indigenous Archives and Data Stewardship Hub. Her research focuses on Indigenous protocols and decolonising practices in libraries and archives, advocating for Indigenous self-determination over cultural heritage materials and developing frameworks for Indigenous Data Sovereignty. Kirsten is co-founder of the Indigenous Archives Collective and serves on the International Council on Archives Expert Group on Indigenous Matters and the National Archives of Australia Advisory Council. She champions the development of Living Indigenous Archives on Country and the Right of Reply to colonial records.
