Living the Cross Life is a book for Christians who are somehow called to walk on "the road mark with suffering" and still are trying to sing "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord." It is also a book for all of Christ's disciples who have denied themselves, taken up their cross and are following Him. One way or another every one of Christ's disciples have their own "cross" or even "crosses" to bear. All Christians do need this book because the Bible tell us how to do that well and bring glory to God. Within these pages you will find your heart encouraged, realize your mind is expanded, and discover a new scriptural theology of suffering is explained. Mrs. John Pounds, who penned the beloved hymn "The Way of the Cross Leads Home" (1906), was inspired by a popular story which centered on the geographical heart of London, known as Charring Cross or just as "The Cross." It told of a lost child in London who, unable to describe where he lived, finally said through tears, "If you will take me to the Cross, I think I can find my way home from there." That image-of the Cross as the place of orientation, of rescue, of return-captures the heart of this book. In every trial, in every tear, in every triumph, the Cross is where we find our bearings. It is where comfort overflows. And it is where we begin to find our way home.
