2nd Edition on the 20th Anniversary of Prison Break This updated edition includes new chapters based on Toby's final communications with John before his suicide, revealing the tragic conclusion to their extraordinary story. ----------------------- The true story of the Lifetime movie, Jailbreak Lovers. For true crime enthusiasts, Toby Dorr's memoir is a must-read. It offers a rare insight into the complexities and nuances of criminal behavior, and the impact it has on those who find themselves caught up in it. However, the memoir is not just a tale of crime and punishment. It is a story of resilience and transformation, and an inspiring reminder that redemption is always possible. Toby's memoir is a remarkable true story that recounts her aiding a convicted murderer's escape from prison. Her memoir goes beyond the sensationalism of the headline-grabbing escape and offers a unique perspective on the criminal justice system. Her story delves deep into the psychological and emotional challenges of incarceration, as well as the healing and transformative power of resilience. She bares her soul as she walks readers through her story, relationship, and eventual prison sentence. In the second half of the book, she shares how the sisterhood developed and how she could work through what had happened and start the healing process.
Autorenporträt
Toby Dorris a writer, speaker, and fierce advocate for criminal justice reform whose own journey from prison to purpose has shaped her mission of helping others find grace, healing, and transformation. Once known as "The Dog Lady" for founding a prison dog program--Toby discovered the power of second chances firsthand. After serving time in federal prison for helping convicted murderer John Manard escape from prison, Toby emerged with a deeper understanding of the systems that both break and rebuild lives. She channeled this experience into her memoir Living with Conviction and now helps women break free from emotional imprisonment and reclaim their stories.
