'Love Poems' is a tapestry of passion, longing, and devotion, woven through a rich collection of verse. All the poems are original, new works, complimented with specially created, hand-painted illustrations, bringing the pages to life, making every word a brushstroke of emotion. 'Through love's many forms we wander, Sonnets bold and whispers free, Cascading lines that softly ponder, Or dance in bright alexandry.' A Symphony of Verse From classical sonnets to free-flowing modern verse, this collection embraces love in all its forms. Each poem is carefully crafted to capture a different facet of the heart's journey, from the first flutter of attraction to the deepest bonds of lasting devotion. 'Italian echoes, English grace, Verse unrhymed like rivers run, Each rhythm finds its rightful place, A thousand ways to speak of one.' Art Meets Poetry Each poem is accompanied by original hand-painted illustrations. These vibrant artworks don't merely complement the verses-they engage in an intimate dialogue with the words, creating a multi-sensory experience that elevates both art forms. 'For those who cherish love's embrace, For dreamers lost in words so true, This treasure wraps them in its grace- A book that speaks the heart anew.' 'A rare companion, bound with care, Where poetry and art entwine, A keepsake made for hearts to share, A love once penned, forever thine.'
Autorenporträt
Creag McMillan began writing poetry at age 6, a family tradition rooted in his Celtic heritage. Following his mother's passing in 1992, he set aside writing for nearly 30 years. During a battle with COVID pneumonia in 2019, he rediscovered his poetic voice, initially crafting personal pieces that evolved into customised poems based on others' experiences and memories. In 2024, his collaborative work with artist Heidi Sturgess began, creating books that blend her original artwork with his poetry. When asked about his profession now, he simply replies 'I'm a poet' - and, as he readily admits with a smile, 'don't I know it.'
